Since my early twenties I have been fascinated with cooking and especially with the international cuisine, which offers so many different materials and methods to provide our most basic need. Each country or region of the world produces such an exciting variety of tastes, colors and smells in their cuisine, all influenced by geography, history and tradition.

 

It was then that I started throwing dinner parties for my friends and family, based on some nation’s cooking traditions. My friends have recognized my passion, and so my bookshelf soon filled up with cookbooks with dedications to “the cook of the gang”. These books escort me till now.

 

However, in this “on-line” era, when people use the Internet for getting new recipes, whenever you want to get acquainted with a national cuisine you haven't met before, the results are so overwhelming, that it may take time to tell right from left. So that is what this site is about: to present the different national cooking traditions in essence along with some background stories.

 

The recipes are organized by different nations in meals of several courses each. Usually there are a few different meals suggestions for each cuisine to present different angles of specific national cooking. For each meal there is a “shopping” list of ingredients for all the meal’s courses, an estimated time needed for preparations and whether there are things that can or should be prepared in advance. So enjoy your meals and keep our planet safe!
